The candidate will participate in product development activities related to the design, development, testing and support of software for NxStage Medical's products.

Specific Duties:
Apply state-of-the-art methods in creating software for NxStage products.
Create requirements and specification documents.
Create and execute unit tests as part of the software validation effort.
Provide technical support for product research, design & development, integration, and testing.
Develop software in multiple levels / areas, including embedded processing / driver development, algorithm development & implementation, state machines and embedded communication and control systems.
Assist in debugging existing designs and developing reliability improvements for the same.
Work with Quality Assurance to meet the requirements of our internal Quality System including specific requirements of GMPs, FDA QSR, relevant IEC standards and ISO 9001.
Education &
Qualifications:
BS in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
3
years experience in software product engineering and development.
Requirements:
C, C+
or C# Language Skills
Experience writing and executing software test plans including unit test plans
Experience writing requirements and detailed design documents
Experience with multi-threaded or multi-tasking application development
Experience with embedded operating systems (including Linux) and/or Real Time Operating Systems
Experience developing device drivers
Desirable Skills:
Medical device or other safety critical device development
Experience developing and debugging software on embedded processors utilizing JTAG or similar debugging tools
Experience with software review process
Experience testing software including white box and black box testing techniques
Experience with software revision control systems and configuration management
Experience with Linux
Ability to read schematics
Ability to operate a digital voltmeter, oscilloscope or logic analyzerEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
