SUMMARY
Operate agency vehicle under state and agency procedure, with the safety of individuals served a priority at all times. This is a split shift
position
starting in early am and mid- afternoons.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Arrive promptly for duty; cover route efficiently according to planned route. Supervise monitors while operating the vehicle including assisting the monitor with loading and unloading individuals as needed. As assigned, transport mail, or other personnel.
2. Assure the safety of passengers during transport through safe driving techniques and adherence to all rules of the road.
3. Enforce van rules. See that seatbelts are used properly and consistently. Write incident/accident reports according to agency guidelines. Report unusual behavior or pertinent occurrences to Senior Dispatcher/
manager
.
4. Demonstrate awareness of safety precautions and procedures equipment in place, compliance with regulations, laws, and departmental guidelines.
5. Keep van in good order and condition fuel, mechanically sound, tires, cleanliness of interior and windows. Report van maintenance problems to Senior Dispatcher.
6. Relate in a respectful and professional manner to individuals, staff, parents and residential advocates. Respect and safeguard the confidentiality of individuals and staff. Handle problems with passenger transport with patience, a positive attitude and involvement of necessary team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Drivers must be (19) years of age and have completed all required training prior to HST work. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Valid Drivers License and 3 years driving experience, including driving multi-passenger
vehicles
, required. . CLASS conducts an extensive background check to include; (CORI), with results verified, prior to any contact with Agency Consumers. Drug and alcohol screening, physical fitness for duty, review of driving record and employment verification for all candidates seeking employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
