1 Lawrence, MA Lawrence, MA Part-time Part-time $20 - $25 an hour $20 - $25 an hour 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago Development Associate -Communications & Special Events (Part-Time) Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence Lawrence, MA Overview The Development Associate is responsible for the Club's social media management, press releases and newsletters, website content and maintenance, photo and video capture and editing, graphic design, copywriting, and assistance with special events.
This position maintains updates to the Club's website and designs, generates, and distributes social media postings, press releases, periodic newsletters, special event promotions, and other media.
The Associate collaborates with Club staff and Development team members to ensure that all internal and external communications consistently and accurately reflect the Club's mission, branding, and communications standards.
The ideal candidate will have a background in digital and print communications and marketing.
Position Description Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepares and manages all press releases and press-related material used to promote the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence.
Utilizes social media and email marketing tools to promote the Club's programs and events to targeted audiences.
Posts event information & highlights donation and sponsorship opportunities on website and in social media channels.
Writes content for newsletters which are distributed three times a year, annual report distributed once a year, and annual appeal letter distributed once a year.
As a social media lead, establishes a consistent message, builds loyal followers, grows engagement, and encourages online conversations.
Maintains active presence across key platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
Monitors content analytics and creates reports on overall social performance.
Manages a calendar of communications that incorporates planned outreach and updates for donors, prospects, volunteers, alumni and other external stakeholders.
Gathers content and data for the creation of visual campaigns.
Maintains Club's digital asset library (e.
g.
, images, videos, etc.
); produces short videos for social media, and donor stewardship communications, etc.
Identifies issues with website functionality (events calendar & newsletter functions, program pages, people directory, social media integration, etc.
) for ongoing quality assurance and updates.
Ensures the Club's website provides up-to-date information about events and other programs.
Assists the Events Coordinator with the execution of virtual and in-person programs and events.
Publicizes events to ensure widest engagement, creates materials for participants, and provides logistical support for virtual and in-person events.
Designs brochures and other collateral materials to be published in print and/or digital formats Participates in marketing strategy development.
Coordinates the appearance of all organization print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, reports etc.
Assists with CRM database maintenance, updates, and reporting.
Performs other development-related job functions as needed Essential Qualifications 1-3 years of relevant experience in media/communications required.
Associate's Degree or higher required.
Strong writing, communication, and editing skills.
Additional qualifications include:
Demonstrated experience in social media, website and content management systems, and digital marketing efforts for an organization.
Experience with multimedia production/photography.
Videography experience a plus.
Experience in utilizing digital tools & platforms used for creating/ posting/ managing digital content (Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, InDesign, Canva, Mailchimp, email marketing software).
Additional Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
This position requires the ability to collaborate with colleagues and constituents of diverse cultural backgrounds and communication styles and to tailor and adapt content for targeted audiences, as well as to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Additional Information Part-time (15 to 25 hours); daily schedule to be determined but ideally Monday-Friday, 3-6pm.
Occasional remote work possible.
Compensation:
$20-25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications match.
PLEASE NOTE:
This position will be based in Lawrence, MA and may require occasional night or weekend work during special events, including 2-3 off-site fundraising events per year plus on-site evening youth programs and celebrations.
