5K a year As the Account Support Representative, you will be responsible for responding to inquiries/requests received from patients and partners concerning resolution of insurance and self-pay balances professionally.
Help to investigate and troubleshoot any issues encountered by clients and escalate when needed.
Ensure that all documents received at Lawrence General Hospital are scanned in the appropriate files and documented.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Responds to incoming calls with professionalism and helps to resolve caller's issues, retrieving critical information that impacts the resolution of current or potential future claims.
Initiates telephone calls to patients/guarantors and uses insurance company technology to determine coverage and resolve self-pay balances.
Directs patients to appropriate departments for assistance.
Documents correspondence responds to attorney requests for information.
Prints out itemized bills, claim forms and other requested information.
Understands insurance principles, terminology and regulations.
Keeps abreast of HIPAA regulations and requirements.
Follows department policy and procedure to ensure the maintenance of account documentation to meet hospital standards and requirements.
Reports issues to Coordinator.
Communicates information regarding billing practices, insurance claims submissions, and patient responsibility to all customers in a clear, helpful and respectful manner.
Answer calls and provide resolution for patients inquiring about their accounts.
Works as a collaborative, constructive, cooperative team member within the Patient Financial Service Department and Hospital departments.
Ensures all checks, explanation of benefits, correspondence, requests, etc.
that are received in the Patient Accounts office are scanned daily in the appropriate file location for Lawrence General Hospital and its affiliated business.
Identify and process self-pay refund check requests.
Batches and organizes the documents to allow PFS staff members to search and locate any of the documentation as expeditiously as possible.
Follows all processes in detail and immediately notifies the Patient Account Supervisor if any problems arise during the process.
Maintains appropriate logs and documentation as required.
Attends mandatory meetings and educational training sessions to stay current with billing requirements and hospital policies and procedures.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Relevant work experience, preferably in patient account resolution.
Knowledge of third party insurance and medical terminology.
Computer skills.
Ability to work independently within established functional guidelines and withstand pressure that may arise when dealing with the public Preferred:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
