Summary:
The Claims Administrator works directly with customers and our insurance brokers to monitor claims and incidents and make sure all claims are handled smoothly.
They will also report to management and the VP EHS & Compliance on a regular basis to outline all open and outstanding claims.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Evaluate incidents for claims reporting purposes and seek additional information to clarify extent of potential claim.
Input all incidents into the EHS & Compliance software for incident tracking and resolution.
The primary responsibility of the Claims Administrator is to administrate all claims and incidents for professional and general liabilities that occur.
If it is an incident that needs to be filed with insurance, they will then be responsible for reporting the claim directly to the broker.
They will monitor the status on all open claims until they are closed out including determining all expense reserves; monitoring defense activities; managing and maintain records regarding losses and risk management; developing reports for statistical claims; and administrating damage recovery.
They will have quarterly or semi-annual claim calls with Insurance Carriers to discuss all open and outstanding claims.
They will meet regularly with management and the VP EHS & Compliance to discuss problematic open claims or claims that need special attention.
Assist with incoming calls from customers and claims adjusters as needed.
Assists with various client service needs and general customer service calls if involving a claim.
Keep a system current and up to date that outlines details of all claims that have been reported.
Assist with data entry into our environmental compliance Titan system as directed by Sr Compliance Officer.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Oversees Certificate of Insurance (COI) process for managing certificates upon request Other duties as assigned.
Training & Required Skills:
1-3 years' experience trouble shooting and resolving claim issues; 3-7 years' experience is preferred.
Previous experience working with or for insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
Thorough knowledge of and inter-workings of claims handling.
Customer Service Property and Casualty Insurance Troubleshooting & Resolving Claim Issues:
3 years (Preferred) Detail-oriented and able to multitask well a must.
